Grammy-winning artist and pastor Smokie Norful is back with a soul-stirring new release, “In My Name.” Blending his signature contemporary sound with the timeless spirit of the original, Norful draws inspiration from Milton Brunson and The Thompson Community Singers’ classic rendition, later popularized by Kim McFarland.
“This was an opportunity to go back and pay tribute,” Norful shared. “It’s a powerful song…a little nostalgic, but it was my way of putting a new twist on it and lending my voice to a wave that God has already begun.”
Rooted in scripture, the song’s lyrics deliver a message of faith and divine promise: “And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may glorify the Father.” With its dynamic melody and spiritually rich lyrics, “In My Name” is poised to resonate with both longtime gospel enthusiasts and a new generation of listeners.
