Chicago, Mississippi, & Tennessee Mass Choirs Represent

With the Performance Of A Lifetime

Nashville, TN – New Haven Records recording artist the Chicago Mass Choir recently joined forces with the Mississippi Mass Choir and the Tennessee Mass Choir for the first time in history as they presented a performance of a lifetime. On this special evening, these three iconic and accomplished gospel choirs shared one stage at the 2023 Music From The Masses concert set to take place at New Salem Baptist Church in Memphis.

“Their down-home sound is the cornerstone of gospel music and childhood memories of Sunday morning that shaped gospel culture both inside and outside the church,” states Music From The Masses Executive Director Jason Clark. “Collectively, these powerhouses represent 100 years of the greatest gospel music ever. The trilogy, which rose to fame simultaneously in the late 80s and early 90s, has been individually recognized over the years as the most powerful and beloved mass choirs in the history of American gospel music.”

According to Clark, thousands packed the New Salem Baptist Church in Memphis for this high-energy night of mega praise, which he says will be more than just a concert. He anticipates the evening to generate a movement that will unite the church and spawn even more events of this type throughout the nation.

Dr. Feranda Williamson, President and CEO of the legendary Chicago Mass Choir, was honored to participate in this special celebration. “For years, I have been praying for a concert with Mississippi Mass Choir and Tennessee Mass Choir, as well as other Mass choirs throughout the country.” Dr. Williamson shares, “When Jason Clark reached out to me about the Meeting From The Masses with his choir, Tennessee Mass Choir, and Mississippi Mass Choir, I was so excited and could not wait to share with my Chicago Mass Choir family. The concert will be historic and the first of future Mass Choir concerts throughout the country!”
