Defend Music Seeks Multi-Genre Songwriters

At this year’s ASCAP “I Create Music” Expo, Defend Music Publishing‘s Russell Nygaard let it be known that his company is on the lookout for writers who have the unique ability to create songs from across all genres.

Defend Music is a regular presence on the Billboard 200 album sales charts, and they have had copyrights in many No. 1 albums in their history, including Beyoncé’s Lemonade, Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail and Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP 2. Defend Music’s songs are used in film, TV, video games and commercials, including recent spots for Apple, Nike, Fitbit, Keurig and Rexona. Their clients are the recipients of a number of Grammys, including the 2016 Grammy for Record of the Year for “Uptown Funk.”
