What To Wear Today?

When you wake up in the morning and after you’ve made your first cup of coffee for the day. Looking in your closet that definitely needs to be cleaned out but we will get to that another day. Is it important to you to choose your own clothes to tackle the day ahead?

Well, for me it’s extremely important and always have been. When I look into my closet and start pulling out pieces I consider 3 main things and maybe they can help you!

1. What’s on my agenda for the day? Do I have a photoshoot and if so I’m going to need comfy shoes and an outfit that I can definitely move and work in while on set. Do I have meetings where I need to dress it up a little and if so I can add a blazer to pretty much any look. Looking at your schedule can help you when you’re trying to decide what clothes to put on for the day. Try to think about the body movements you will have to make if any. Will you have to be in this look all day and night?

2. This leads me to my style consideration number 2, Will I need to wear this look entering to the night life? Do I have a date, probably not? Do I haver plans to meet the girls for drinks and we complain about not having dates? If so, then I need to make sure I have a killer pair of heels with me while maybe doing a look that I can twist to make it a little more fun! Wearing a pair of distressed denim jeans and a white button up while finishing the look with a pair of my favorite Nike sneakers will get me through being on set and running errands for the day. Now its time to hit downtown and by me opening my button up a little bit more, tying the front of it. Adding that pop of color heel and of course the matching lipstick. I have now turned my semi street style to an I’ve arrived chic style!

3. We can’t forget about the weather, which is mostly unpredictable at times but its important when dressing yourself for the day. You must consider if it’s going to be 98 degrees and humid or if there is a 30 percent chance of rain. Why do you ask? Well, you wouldn’t want to wear your new velvet pumps and get them ruined because you didn’t know it was going to rain. Factoring in the weather is as easy as deciding if you will need to grab your black leather jacket if it gets cold at night or swapping out your white sneakers for the black ones.

I’ve always made it my business to dress the part while always staying true to my own personal style. My top 3 style considerations have always remained the same and I believe that if you start using these too you will see how more smoother your morning could go. Plus the less you have to worry about WHAT TO WEAR TODAY, the more time you have to make a second cup of coffee!

Yours Truly,
